My family and I moved to Northern Michigan in late December to start a full-time preaching ministry in Kalkaska, MI. After submitting several resumes to Indiana churches, and being turned down, I was contacted by the Kalkaska church. I grew up in this church and my father served as the Senior Minister for 17 years back in the late 60’s to mid 80’s. I know most of the elders who were on the board and many families who are in the church. We are a church of about 400 right now and God is doing some amazing things. We have had over 15 baptisms so far this year and broke an attendance record on Easter with 615 people coming to worship Jesus with us. It is a joy and a blessing to get to prepare and deliver a sermon each week. If you are bored and want to check out one or two you can find them at kccwired.com. The scholarship money you awarded me was a huge help. I have one class remaining that I will take in the fall online through CCU. I will finish my degree without debt. I continue to encourage anyone I know who is feeling called to the ministry to dive in and see how the Lord will provide.
I think ACF is an amazing organization and gift to the church of today and tomorrow. I pray God will continue to bless the organization as it makes monies available to people like me who are called to ministry and wonder how in the world they are going to pay for it. Keep pouring into the lives of these ministers and future ministers and be amazed at how God uses these young men and women to impact the Kingdom of our God and King. Andy Bratton
